App in the Air

The holidays are coming up and according to AAA, more than 40 million Americans will travel to see their loved ones. Of those 40 million, about 3.5 million will hit the airports. As a traveler myself, I am always looking to stay up to date with my flight status. The App Store has hundreds of apps that have information of flights across the world. Whenever I have to go to the airport I make sure to have App in the Air on my phone. App in the Air is unique as it tells you more than when your flight leaves. App in the Air is your personal assistant when it comes to traveling.

One of the most important aspects of an app is its design and user friendliness. App in the Air has a beautiful and simplistic design that won’t have you stressing (leave that to the TSA). Your upcoming flights are featured on the homepage, along with your profile and option to add more flights. Once your flight is found you will have the option of checking in with the in-app browser, look up gate info, nearest restaurants at the airport, weather at both departure and arrival destination, and any delays (which I hope you don’t have any of this season).

Social media is a strength for App in the Air as users can search nearby IMG_1778users and interact with users if you’re into making friends at airports. As you fly more with the app, you are able to earn badges and show your Facebook friends how cool of a traveler you are. Not only do you get to learn about the airport you are at, but you also get to learn tricks about the airport you are flying into. If you have an Apple Watch the app has a companion for it and I have to say, simplicity at its best!

There are already enough things to stress about at the airport, so why not carry App in the Air on your phone. App in the Air is available on both Android and iOS platforms. The app is free but if you want to take advantage of the push notification you will have to buy the subscription which start at $0.99 and go up $49.99 per year.
